HUNTINGTON BEACH...This week we'll continue to get to know the people whose signs you may have seen on your neighborhood street corners that advertise an open house for sale or even who may have sold you your dream home in Huntington Beach.

This week we are privileged to get to know a Realtor who grew up and attended both elementary and high school in Huntington Beach before becoming a real estate agent.

Mr. Garrett Weston has seen the changes that have occurred in in the past in Orange County and especially in his hometown of Huntington Beach. He has seen the Standard Oil Camp property north of Goldenwest Street transformed in SeaCliff on the Green with its stately homes.

"Growing up in Huntington Beach I miss the charm of the old downtown," said Weston.

Weston's first real job 20 years ago wasn't selling property, but selling linens at Marina Pacific and it was there that he made a $2,000 sale to Realtor Jim Klisanin of Bay Town Reality in Seal Beach. A short time later he received a card from Klisanin offering him a job selling real estate for him.

This was the start of his long career into real estate.

He has been involved in some record-setting transactions, including the sale of some of the most expensive residences in several Orange County cities. On some occasions, Garrett has privately negotiated transactions for clients involving properties not offered on the open market.

Weston is married to his wife Kelly for the past 17 years and they are proud parents of two children, Shea, 16, and Sienna, 13.

Today he sells property with Compass Real Estate.
