Getting to know Real Estate Agent Lisa Karos

HUNTINGTON BEACH...If you have lived for any length of time in downtown Surf City USA, must have at some time or other spotted a for sale sign at a street corner or in front of one of our homes with the name of Lisa Karos along with a photo of a young lady.

This week and in coming weeks we'll be looking at who these people are and who may have possibly have sold you your dream home in Huntington Beach.

Karos hasn't always lived in beautiful sunny California, having been born in Detroit, Michigan, but she has been a 32 year resident in Huntington Beach after having lived in the Bay area as well as in Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

During those early years, Karos began a successful career in marketing and in the fashion industry.

In 1987 she discovered the beauty of Huntington Beach and its residents. Shortly afterwards she earned her degree in Family Studies and Gerontology.

Today Karos has three grown children; Kristin graduated from UCSB in 2009 where she earned her masters in Journalism from NYU in 2011.

Kara, Lisa's middle child now resides in Santa Monica and graduated from USC's Annenberg School for Communication with a degree in journalism 2011.  Today she works for a top Media company OMD.  

Her son Connor attended Cal State Monterey and is now working in the Music Industry.

Her three children all attended St. Bonaventure and Mater Dei High School.

Lisa's husband Richard has worked in Orange County in Construction for the past 30+ years.

For the past 19 years, she have been active in the real estate business and today divides her time between being a Realtor and in several community projects including the Casa Teresa, Reagan Ranch, Young Americas Foundation and Collettes Children Home,

Karos was a former member for The International Surfing Museum that sponsors Team Up for Down Sydrome and she was involved in the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce's Face to Face event and the Rescue Roundup fundraisers.

Karos has been an independant agent in the ReMax Select One since 2004 and has achieved both Platinum Status in 2012 and Lifetime Achivement Award in 2018 as well as made the Chairmans club. She was also awarded Buyer's agent of the year and named "Realtor of the Year."

On every closed real estate transaction, she will donate 5% back to the buyer's cahrity of choice.

Her work ethic and dedication to each of her clients is a winning combination that people remember about her and many have come back to her to purchase a newer home or rental property.
