Read Across America at Peterson Elementary

HUNTINGTON BEACH...On Friday, Feb. 27, we had an amazing Read Across America Day at Peterson Elementary School!

This year, more than 50 guest readers across 20 classrooms (TK–5th grade) ignited a love of reading and inspired young minds.

A huge thank you to our elected officials, City representatives, community members, police officers, firefighters, and lifeguards for participating and sharing their favorite books with Panther students!

A special congratulations to Principal Dr. Kevin Smith-Johnson for receiving a well-deserved special commendation from Mayor McKeon for his leadership and commitment to literacy and community engagement. Photo:HBCSD
