ANAHEIM...Anaheim Police Officers fatally shoot a man after a confrontation occurred. A firearm was located at the scene.

On December 6, 2025, at approximately 9:32 p.m., two Anaheim Police officers were patrolling the 800 block of S. Philadelphia St. when they encountered several subjects in front of a residence. During the encounter, a confrontation occurred, leading to an officer-involved shooting. A male adult was struck by gunfire and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A firearm was located at the scene.

In the aftermath of the shooting, an unruly crowd started to form, requiring additional resources to be deployed for the safety of the officers and the integrity of the investigation. One subject was struck with a non-lethal round and transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld, pending confirmation by the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office and next-of-kin notification. He is believed to be a male adult, approximately 19 years old.

The officers involved in the initial shooting incident suffered minor injuries.

The officer’s discharge of a firearm prompted a response from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Anaheim PD Homicide Detectives, the Anaheim PD Major Incident Review Team, and Anaheim PD Internal Affairs for a complete and transparent investigation.
