"Signage on Lifeguard Hut"

Yesterday morning while walking on the Iconic Huntington Beach Pier, I noticed a Life Guard Stand had a commercial advertisement on the back side.  This is not only an “Eyesore” but detracts from the natural environmental beach beauty associated with our City.  Visitors from around the world and local residents, who frequent the Pier on a daily and weekly basis, do so because it is a main attraction, which leaves a positive and lasting impression on those who have experienced its wonders.

The commercial advertisement “Cheapens” the visual effects ordinary connected with a scenic image, a symbol that sets us apart from the ordinary.  The bigger question, are Commercial Advertisements allowed on City Property?  See attached photograph, thank you.

Sincerely,

Daniel C Garcia, BFA, CMI, MAM
