Newland House Girl's Playroom
The upstairs' playroom began as a bedroom for
the older girls, but with the building of the addition in 1915,
this room then became a playroom for the girls on rainy days.

In the cabinets that the historical society
built, houses a doll collection that dates from the 1860s to
the 1930s and had belonged to a longtime resident of Huntington
Beach, Margaret Elliott. In the other cabinet is a display of
christening gowns, undergarments etc.
On the wall of this room is an original 1911
Huntington Beach News newspaper showing a red Santa. In this
room are three pieces of Newland family furniture, a rocker with
footstool and two chairs.
